Jinhua’s diverse tourist attractions endow us with some of the most unique travel experiences in China. From hot springs to the colourful Wu Opera, from the amazing folklore to the cycling experience, Jinhua’s diverse natural beauty is as impressive as its splendid culture and tourist destinations. Prior to coming to Jinhua homestay, I didn’t know that I will get to visit attractions as diverse as these.

Today is yet another sunny morning of Jinhua Homestay and I am heading to the Lotus fields with my friends. It’s the Beauty of Chinese lotus fields that attracts one and all and makes it one of the most panoramic places in Jinhua.

When I entered the lotus fields, I was stunned looking at 1000 kinds of lotuses. The pink and green lotus landscape is really a treat to eyes. This is the first time I am seeing such a vast dazzling pink lotus landscape and it looked like a Chinese watercolor painting to me. This place is deeply loved by photographers, artists and tourists. I recommend this place to art lovers and photographers from India who want to hone their skills by taking an inspiration from Mother Nature of Jinhua.

Today we are supposed to judge the competitors at Lotus garden, who are pitting their skills against each other to present their folk culture to tourists. At the entrance, there was a beautiful damsel dressed in the traditional red attire, showcasing her singing talent to us. We sang a verse of the folk song asking her a question in Chinese, upon which she sang the verses in reply. When we went a further ahead to the lotus corridor, there were 2 dancers dancing against the background of pagoda. We were supposed to vote one of these performers based on their skills.

After experiencing this breath-taking lotus landscapes, we got to experience the ethnic village culture of where we saw the ethnic bamboo dancing performance and we all got an opportunity to dance skipping the bamboos, on the tunes of drum.

Then we had lunch at the canteen area. There was a separate vegetarian table arranged for us and we got to eat a lot of vegetarian varieties.

Next on our agenda was a visit to leisure product manufacturing factory and Apollo motorbike factory. I am really impressed by the entrepreneurship of the founder of Apollo. She learnt cycling and biking at the age of 14, got her first bike at the age of 18 and went on to set up business in China at the age of 35. The company now has 20 offices all over the world. We got to drive cycles, motorbikes, electronic skates as well as a racer.
