Jinhua's Achievement in Transportation
Post Time:03/02/2017 Browse Number:

In 2016, Jinhua invested 22 billion RMB in transportation construction, which makes up 110% of Jinhua’s total planned investment this year. Further, Jinhua’s highway, railway, and waterway systems set a new record in the city’s transportation history and are still gaining momentum.

The construction of Wucheng-Yiwu National Expressway 235 began on December 23, 2016. Once National Expressway 235 is completed, it will only take 20 minutes to travel between the two locations, and the mileage between the two will be reduced to 30 km. After that, a new Bus Rapid Transit line between the two cities will be opened.

On December 26, 2016, the reconstruction of Wucheng-Lanxi Provincial Expressway 313 (which costed nearly 2 billion RMB), the construction of the wharf in Fangxiadian Port, and the improvement of the channel of the Lan River began. Meanwhile, the multiple track program of Yiwu-Zhuji Provincial Expressway 310 and the reconstruction of Provincial Expressway 310 (including five stretches of expressways from Qingkou, Yiwu to Suxi, and Yiwu to Wuyi) were also completed and opened to traffic.

With 42 major programs and 6 key projects finished, the three-year plan of the construction of the Jinyi New Urban District turned out to be a great success. The trial section under the Jinhua-Yiwu-Dongyang urban rail transit program was approved, and the whole program was allowed to begin construction on different segments. A series of projects, like the Jinhua-Taizhou intercity railway, the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Jinhua-Taizhou expressway, the Lin’an-Jinhua expressway, and the Jinhua-Jiande railway were started. Additionally, the widening of the Yiwu-Shugang expressway and the Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou expressway, the development of the Qu River’s shipping capacity, the relocation of the railway passenger transportation junction zone, and the Jinhua freight yard are accelerating. Finally, other projects like the construction of the Ningbo-Jinhhua railway, the Hangzhou-Wenzhou high-speed rail and the Yiwu-Dongyang-Yongkang high-speed rail are making preparations. Another achievement worth to be mentioned is that BRT Lines 3 and 4 have been opened to traffic.

The five high-speed railways that were constructed during the 13th Five Year Plan period (Hangzhou-Jinhua-Quzhou, Yiwu-Dongyang-Yongkang, Dongyang-Yongkang, and Jinhua-Wenzhou-Lishui expressways) form a circle, and the newly finished urban rail transit system forms another giving shape to two concentric circles. An investment of 110 billion RMB, which accounts for 68.8% of the total planned investment in Jinhua’s overall transportation program, was made in the construction of these concentric circles. Additionally, the construction of the Ningbo-Jinhua urban railway, the improvement of National Expressway 527, the widening of the Ningbo-Jinhua expressway, and the acceleration of the construction of the Qu River’s shipping channel are major priorities on the agenda.

During the 13th Five Year Plan period, Jinhua is also dedicated to building a national comprehensive transportation system, which will allow passengers to get to the major cities of provinces around Jinhua in about two hours, to travel around the urban areas of Jinhua in one hour, and to travel around the hub areas in Jinhua’s urban districts in half an hour.
