Post Time:06/03/2017 Browse Number:

On December 15, Qiantang Ginza, a project independently developed by Zhongtian Group, obtained LEED Gold Pre-Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is one of the most popular and influential green building certification programs used worldwide.

Zhongtiang's Qiantang Ginza Project plays an influential role in the field of green building thanks to several aspects:

- Sustainable Building Site Selection – The selection of the Qiantang Ginza Project site was based on a location that is not only convenient for public transportation but can also be used by bicycles and low-emission and car-sharing transportation means. In fact, over 10% of the parking spaces are reserved for low-emission and car-sharing vehicles; and 50 charging posts have been set up.

- Water Efficiency – The project focuses on the comprehensive control of water use, collection, and the use of rainwater and condensed water from air-conditioning.

- Energy and Atmosphere – According to the LEED report provided by commissioning specialists, the Project will ensure that the system's operations will achieve a substantial energy-saving effect.

- Materials and Resources – The project guarantees the use of materials according to the aims of reducing energy consumption in transport, banning toxic substances, and recycling materials.

- Indoor Environmental Quality – In order to guarantee a healthy construction environment and indoor environmental safety, particular attention is also paid to the construction process and interior design, including air quality control, toxic materials control, indoor pollutants control, and elimination measures.

Apart from the LEED Gold Pre-Certification, this project is also applying for a national green building certification of the third level. (Source: Zhongtian Group Official Website; translated by Marco Lovisetto, edited by Xiamara Hohman)
