China-South Africa Center at ZNU

       On April 1, when the China-South Africa Cultural Exchange was about to be inaugurated, the China-South Africa Cultural Exchange Research Center (CSCERC) opening ceremony and the Sino-Africa Cultural Exchange Strategy Seminar were held at Zhejiang Normal University. Officials from the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges (DICE) under the Ministry of Education of the PRC; the Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ESCO) under the State Council of the PRC; and the Foreign Affairs Department under Office of Education of Zhejiang Province attended the seminar. In addition, over 70 Chinese and foreign scholars from the University of Witwatersrand, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, University of International Relations, Yunnan University, Shanghai Normal University, Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics, Zhejiang A&F University, and other universities, as well as directors from the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Africa, attended the seminar.

       Yu Jihai, deputy director of DICE, Wang Tianlong, director of ESCO, and Jiang Guojun, president of ZNU, attended the opening ceremony and gave speeches. Lou Shizhou, vice president of ZNU and director of the China-South Africa Culture Exchange Research Center, presided over the ceremony. (Translated by Pu Yanli, edited by Kendra Fiddler)
