Yiwu-Madrid Cooperation

  On June 12, a delegation led by Arturo de las Heras, CEO of Universidad a Distancia de Madrid (UDIMA), and a professor from Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC), visited Yiwu Industrial and Commercial College (YICC) to participate in educational exchanges and cooperation. During the visit, a cooperation agreement was signed in order to strengthen staff communication, student exchanges, and scientific research collaboration between universities in Yiwu and Madrid.

  CEO de las Heras said that UDIMA and URJC attach great importance to promoting communication and cooperation between Yiwu and Madrid. After a year of joint effort, the two universities founded the New Silk Road Education Center, which has courses related to New Silk Road topics for master candidates.Founded in 2006, UDIMA is the first private distance university in Spanish.URJC is a modern public university in Madrid, Spain, famous for its excellent teaching quality and high graduate employment rate.

  Wang Min, president of YICC, said that the China Railway Express has greatly encouraged the economic and trade contact between Yiwu and Spain, which has led to the two countries’ educational cooperation. He also stated that YICC is looking forward to developing deeper cooperation with UDIMA, URJC, and other universities in Spain.
