|CRE Trains During the Holiday|
On October 3, four China Railway Express (CRE) trains departed from Yiwu West Railway Station. Two trains headed for Central Asian countries, and the other two went to Madrid and Minsk. The trains mainly transported hardware tools, daily necessities, and toys, along with other small commodities.
“During the whole National Day Holiday from October 1-8, the CRE trains took 27 trips,” said Zheng Xianneng, an official at Yiwu Customs. In order to ensure the regular operation of the trains, Yiwu Customs provided appointments for customs clearance according to the needs of the companies. Zheng added that this appointment service is available all the time.
At present, the China-Europe CRE trains have opened 12 routes. As of September 2, 2020, the China-Europe CRE line had registered 529 trains traveling this year, which has already exceeded the total freight volume of 2019. In the first eight months of 2020, the cumulative freight volume of the China-Europe CRE trains has increased by 191.6% year over year. (Translated by Jin Haiqiong, edited by Kendra Fiddler)
