The assembly and installation work of the large-scale woodcarving work “Historic Cause” has been completed, and it will be exhibited in Dongyang beginning on November 1 during the first Chinese Masters Meeting. This work was created by Lu Guangzheng, a master craftsman in the Asia-Pacific region, a master of Chinese arts and crafts, and one of the first inheritors of this national intangible cultural heritage.

The woodcarving work “Historic Cause” includes four parts: “Eventful Years,” “Founding of the People’s Republic,” “Story of Spring,” and “The Chinese Dream.” It consists of four carved wooden screens, each with a width of 7.1 meters, a height of 3.1 meters, and a thickness of 1.1 meters.

In the background of the woodcarving work, natural elements such as lucid waters, lush mountains, tea gardens, orchards, countryside, seaports, space launch pads, high-speed railways, and Tiangong-I (China’s first prototype space station) reflect China’s characteristics and historic achievements in the new era. The foreground sculpture figures are 15 representatives from various industries such as agriculture, science and technology, aerospace, and health. The 15 representatives not only include heroes in the journey of building the Chinese dream, but also pandemic healthcare workers, express delivery workers, children, and other ordinary people. There is also a scene of people from many countries holding hands, embodying a community with a shared future for mankind and demonstrating the characteristics of the new era.       木雕巨作《百年伟业》11月1日展出

亚太地区手工艺大师、中国工艺美术大师、首批国家级非物质文化遗产代表性传承人陆光正主创的大型木雕作品《百年伟业》目前已经完成组装及布展工作，将于11月1日起在东阳举办的首届“中华大师汇”期间展出。

    《百年伟业》分四个篇章，分别为《峥嵘岁月稠》《建立新中国》《春天的故事》《共筑中国梦》。由四幅木雕屏风构成，每幅宽7.1米，高3.1米，厚1.1米，款型统一。

     背景上绿水青山、茶园果园、新农村、海港码头、航天发射高塔、高铁、天宫一号等要素，反映了新时代伟大征程中的历史性成就。前景雕塑人物也选取了新时代涌现出的农业、科技、航天、卫生等各行业的15位人物，既有共筑中国梦征程中的英雄代表，也有抗疫逆行者、快递小哥、少年儿童等普通人，还有体现人类命运共同体理念的多国人民手拉手的群雕像，充分展现了时代特色。（记者胡哲南）
