Red lanterns, cartoon oxen, and exquisite Fu (lit. fortune) character stickers… As the Spring Festival of the Year of the Ox is around the corner, the festival supplies section in District 5 of Yiwu International Trade City is crowded with customers. These festive red supplies are selling all over the country, and even across the oceans, to bring Chinese New Year blessings to Chinese expats.

The festival supplies category was introduced to District 5 in 2013, and the number of stores has increased from 66 then to 168 today. The main products include festival decorations, lanterns, Chinese knots, wedding props, wedding decorations, and other wedding and celebration supplies.

 “As China has managed to control the pandemic, now we are receiving more orders than the same period last year,” said Feng Chaoyun, chairman of the Yiwu Festival Supplies Industry Chamber of Commerce. “Because many overseas customers could not come to Yiwu to order in person due to the pandemic, on April 15 the Yiwu International Trade City launched chinagoods.com to help merchants purchase Chinese goods through online shops and livestreaming.” (Translated by Li Ziyi, edited by Kendra Fiddler)

    红彤彤的大灯笼、造型各异的卡通牛、工艺精巧的福字……随着牛年春节步步临近，义乌国际商贸城五区节庆用品行业迎来了久违的热闹场景。红灿灿的节庆用品销往全国，甚至漂洋过海，为远在国外的华侨华人带去新春祝福。

节庆用品行业从2013年入驻五区，行业规模从66家经营主体发展至如今的168家，行业主营产品包括节庆装饰、灯笼、中国结、婚庆道具、婚庆装饰等婚庆及节庆用品。

     “随着国内疫情防控的稳定，整个行业订货量超过去年同期。”义乌市节庆用品行业商会会长冯潮云介绍。“受疫情影响，不少海外客户不能来义下单，所以今年4月15日，义乌市场官方网站Chinagoods上线，众多商户进行直播和线上交易，取得不错效果。”
