|9th Meeting of China-Africa Think Tank|
Founded by the Institute of African Studies of Zhejiang Normal University, the 9th China-Africa Think Tank was held from November 5 to 6, 2020. Affected by COVID-19, this year’s forum was held in real time online (through the Zoom app) and offline (in Beijing and Zhejiang).
The theme was “the 20th Anniversary of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum: Looking Forward and Reviewing.” The representatives of China and Africa overviewed the positive results gained in various fields under the framework of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum over the past 20 years, reached consensus, and contributed to the sustainable development of China-Africa cooperation in the future.
The Meeting of the China-Africa Think Tank is a high-end platform for Sino-African academic exchanges approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Commerce of China. It was formally established in 2011 and is held in China and Africa each year. With “people-orientation, government participation, dialogue, and reaching consensus” as its purposes, the annual meeting aims to promote research on Africa, enhance mutual understanding, expand consensus between the two sides, and offer suggestions for the development of Sino-African relations.
