Yiwu Accelerates the Development of FTZ

At the end of 2020, in order to accelerate the construction of the Zhejiang Pilot Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and promote cross-border trade and investment, Yiwu issued the “Financial Liberalization and Facilitation Plan for the Pilot Free Trade Zone.”

Since Yiwu was incorporated into the FTZ, the government has been carrying out the100-day goal of industrial transformation and development with a dedicated operation mode. In terms of major planning, 8.2 square kilometers of land will soon be reused for development purposes, and it will be divided into 33 blocks to fulfill the overall plan of the FTZ and urban design planning. In terms of major reforms, the government detailed 135 items in 50 aspects to accomplish the 10 major reforms. In terms of key industries, the government is focusing on the establishment of new international trade industrial clusters with the characteristics of “digital trade, distinctive imports, cross-border e-commerce, and cultural trade.”

In terms of projects, 16 major projects have been launched with a total investment of 21.4 billion RMB; they are related to the new import markets of the comprehensive bonded zones,the supply chain base of Yiwu International Trade City, etc. In addition, Yiwu’s companies and market operators are making every effort to innovate their business model and adapt to the FTZ.
