First 2021 CRE Train Departs from Yiwu

At 10:18 a.m. on January 1, 2021, the X8022 train, loaded with 96 TEUs of Geely auto parts, departed from Yiwu West Station. Itwill arrive in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, in 13 days after passing through the Erenhot railway port. This is the first China-Railway Express (CRE) train departing from Yiwu in 2021.

In the afternoon of the same day, X8014, X8020, and X9017, three CRE trains, were loaded with general merchandise from Yiwu and headed through the three railway ports of Manzhouli, Alashankou, and Khorgas towards Minsk, Madrid, and five Central Asian countries and regions.

A total of 1,399 CRE trains from Yiwu and Jinhua were in operation in 2020, and a total of 115,534 TEUs were shipped, a year-on-year increase of 129.6%. Among them, 974 CRE trains departed from Yiwu, with a total of 80,392 TEUs shipped, a year-on-year increase of 90.2%; a total of 425 CRE trains departed from Jinhua, shippinga total of 35,142 TEUs, an increase of 313% year over year.
