Yiwu Fair Held in October

On October 21, the opening ceremony of the 27th China Yiwu International Commodities Fair (Yiwu Fair, for short) was held at the Yiwu International Expo Center. More than 2,300 companies and over 50,000 merchants from all over the world gathered in Yiwu.

The leaders and guests attending the opening ceremony included: Zhu Congjiu, deputy governor of the People’s Government of Zhejiang; Zhang Shaogang, vice president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade; Sang Ye, deputy secretary-general of the China National Light Industry Council; Fu Longcheng, vice president of the China General Chamber of Commerce; Jin Hong, deputy director of the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce; Xiao Han, deputy director of the Department of Standard Innovation Administration of the State Administration for Market Regulation; Chen Zhong, deputy secretary-general of the People’s Government of Zhejiang; Sheng Qiuping, director of the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang; Zhang Genming, director of the Zhejiang Administration for Market Regulation; Chen Zongyao, president of Zhejiang Council for the Promotion of International Trade; and Xing Zhihong, mayor of Jinhua.

Lin Yi, member of the Standing Committee of the Jinhua Party Committee and secretary of the Yiwu Party Committee, delivered a speech. Wang Jian, deputy mayor of Jinhua and mayor of Yiwu, presided over the ceremony.

Leaders from related ministries, commissions of the state, and related departments of provincial and municipal governments; representatives of sister cities; heads of business associations; and representatives of exhibitors and merchants, also attended the ceremony.

Zhu Congjiu announced the opening of the Yiwu Fair. This year, there were 4,000 international standard booths in total, with an exhibition area of 110,000 square meters. The fair consists of several parts, including standard exhibition area, Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) exhibition area, cross-border e-commerce exhibition areas, and other special exhibition areas. During the fair, activities such as online and offline procurement conferences, livestream e-commerce competitions, and cross-border livestream forums will be held to promote the digitalization of commerce.
