|14th Yiwu Forest Products Fair Opens|
On the morning of November 1, after attending the opening ceremony of the 14th China-Yiwu International Forest Products Fair (CYIFPF), government leaders such as Yang Chao, chief economic manager of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration; Zhou Guohui, deputy chairman of the Zhejiang CPPCC committee; and Su Zuyun, deputy director of the Reform and Development Department of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, visited the exhibition hall of the CYIFPF. Jinhua city leaders Lin Yi and Wang Jian accompanied the visit.
Exquisitely made bamboo and wood products and various kinds of agricultural and products brightened up the exhibition hall. This is a vivid way to practice the idea of “clear waters and green mountains are invaluable assets,” which was put forward by President Xi Jinping.
The leaders visited the exhibition areas for wood and bamboo handicrafts, the forest products from the areas that partnered with Jinhua, forestry equipment, and science and technology, and talked with the exhibitors to learn more about the development of the forestry industry and forestry products. The fair offers a broad stage for companies from all over the world. The leaders appreciated the products and listened patiently to their introductions. Exhibitors were encouraged to use this platform to further expand domestic and foreign markets and to accelerate the development of the forestry industry, contributing to the dual circulation development pattern.
When visiting the exhibition hall, the leaders affirmed the importance of the 14th Forest Products Fair. They said that the forestry industry is not only an important public welfare service to protect the clear waters and green mountains, but also an important industry to create additional invaluable assets. China is the country with the fastest growth in forest resources, and the largest country in the world regarding the production, trade, and consumption of forest products.
Relying on the forest ecosystem, China’s forestry industry has achieved sustained development and successfully entered a new stage of high-quality development. In the current stage, the forestry industry development will usher in new opportunities, and the future will be more promising. To implement the idea of “clear waters and green mountains are invaluable assets,” we should develop the forestry industry with persistent efforts and make integrated advances in the ecological improvement and common prosperity.
The CYIFPF has now been held 14 times since 2008, and it always centers on the welfare of the people, focusing on environmental protection and health. The form of the fair is under continuous innovation, including integrating online and offline platforms. It is expected that the CYIFPF will continue to help expand the domestic and foreign markets of forest products and accelerate the transformation of “clear waters and green mountains” into beneficial assets.
