On February 18, 2021, statistics from Yiwu Postal Administration showed that over January 2021, the express delivery companies in Yiwu reached 735 million business volumes, an increase of 182.1% year-on-year; their business income amounted to 2 billion RMB, an increase of 119.2% year-on-year. Yiwu’s express delivery ushered in a good start for the new year, ranking first in the country.

In addition, in January, Yiwu’s postal industry business income (excluding the incomes of the Postal Savings Bank) reached 2.1 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 105%; the total business volume completed 5.3 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 153.2%.

In response to the call from the Yiwu Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government to encourage employees to stay in Yiwu for Chinese New Year so as to reduce cross infection due to mass mobility, many express delivery companies in Yiwu did not close for the CNY. It is roughly estimated that, during the Spring Festival, more than 300 branches in Yiwu were open, and over 4,000 front-line delivery men were up to work.
