At 10:30 a.m. on March 25, as a tunnel-boring machine broke through the concrete piles of the retaining structure, the right line of the Jinhua-Yiwu Section of theJinhua-Yiwu-Dongyang Intercity Railway under the tunnel of the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway was completed. The project was the “last-kilometer tunnel” of the Jinhua-Yiwu Section, and the right line was completed 10 days ahead of schedule, leaving more preparation time for the trial operation of the railway in June and the opening of operations at the end of the year.

TheJinhua-Yiwu Section is 58.4 km long, including seven underground tunnels, with a total length of 9.35 km. The Tangya-section tunnel passes under the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway and the Shanghai-Kunming General-Speed Railway, with a right-line length of 1006.79 m and a left-line length of 990.67 m.

The “last-kilometer tunnel” of theJinhua-Yiwu Section is a key part of the whole railway construction. It is expected that the left line will be completed by the end of April, followed by the access of civil engineering, rails, electricity, and vehicles.
