International cargo flight YG9050, carrying 800 kilograms of pineapples, departed from Manila International Airport and arrived at Yiwu Airport at 7:55 on the evening of April 20. It is the first batch of imported fruit to arrive in Yiwu in the mode of direct overseas picking and direct production after the specified supervision site for inbound fruit in Yiwu gained approval.

In recent years, imported fruits have gained an increasing market share in Yiwu, especially for tropical and subtropical fruits in Southeast Asia. Previously, Yiwu did not have a supervision site for imported fruits. The imported fruits sold are usually indirectly introduced from designated coastal ports such as Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Ningbo, or purchased from import companies in other cities, which increases the cost of purchase and cannot assure the quality of the fruit. In this mode, the price remains high.

According to the relevant person in the Development Committee of Yiwu Market, now that the designated supervision site has been put into operation in Yiwu, the imported fruit can be directly transported to Yiwu from abroad by plane, which greatly simplifies the purchase process, shortens transportation time, and reduces the price in the market, both benefiting consumers and effectively promoting the development of international trade in Yiwu fruit products.
