Employees of companies on Xiguan Subdistrict of the Jinhua Development Zone have a huge demand for COVID-19 vaccines, but they have difficulties getting to the vaccination sites on weekdays. In view of this, the staff in Xiguan Subdistrict actively coordinated with relevant departments during the three-day Tomb-Sweeping Day holiday (April 3-5), striving to bring doses of the vaccines to the employees’ doorsteps. In addition, before this door-to-door service, 1,400 doses were administered to ordinary residents on Xiguan Street on April 1-2.

The vaccination site is divided into a temperature-taking area, a registration area, vaccination area, and observation area. People who come for vaccines wear masks and queue in an orderly manner. The staff strictly follow the vaccination process and technical specifications, verifying their personal identification and asking about their health condition. People can register for vaccination only if they meet all the relevant requirements. After receiving the vaccine, the residents wait in the observation area for 30 minutes and then leave if they have no symptoms.

In addition to the residents of the seven communities in Xiguan Subdistrict who came for vaccinations that day, there were also employees of companies in the jurisdiction. Many workers from Mengjin, Henan Province, working at Zhejiang Shengjie Construction Co., Ltd., came for vaccinations that afternoon. “It’s better to get vaccinated early, so you can better protect yourself and your family,” said the workers.

The vaccinations went smoothly, which was partly attributed to the excellent preparation work. Based on the deployment, Xiguan Subdistrict established a working group to formulate a plan for orderly vaccination. Furthermore, the publicity and mobilization work were divided into various sections, communities, and grids to effectively promote the vaccination work, perform grid inspection, standardize implementation, and make sure the vaccination work would be promoted in a steady and orderly manner so that residents would agree to get vaccinated.

To enable the residents to have a comprehensive understanding of the vaccination work, Xiguan Subdistrict publicized the vaccine in different ways, including LED display screens, four-level micro-grid groups, online chatting groups, and door-to-door service of distributing A Letter to Residents in Development Zones. The official account of the Street WeChat also wrote a scientific article, Still Hesitating to Get Vaccinated? Here Are the Answers to the Questions You Care About!, which guided residents to scan a QR code and fill in the registration information. As of March 31, 1,897 residents in the jurisdiction had registered.

Furthermore, Xiguan Subdistrict made careful arrangements for large-scale vaccination in advance. The community secretaries, personnel in charge of pandemic prevention and control work, full-time grid staff, volunteers, and police officers were in place at the temporary vaccination site in Honglong Plaza early in the morning on April 1. On April 2, Xiguan Subdistrict arranged another 400 doses of the vaccines, mainly for employees of companies in the districts under their jurisdiction.
