On April 27, Tong Xin, a worker at the Chen Xinhua Studio of the Wuzhou Kiln, Wucheng District, was drawing the pattern of Tiananmen for a new batch of tea sets. The purpose of his artwork was to integrate the Chinese communist culture into the art creation so as to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Chen Xinhua, a master of arts and crafts and the inheritor of the ceramic firing techniques of the Wuzhou Kiln, designed the kiln’s first batch of porcelain cups. These cups adopted the local glazed with the light teal of duck eggs as background, integrated it with characteristic elements of Jinhua, such as camellia, Jianfeng Mountain, and Bayong Bridge, and decorated it with patterns, including propitious cloud, streams, and frets, all of which was to highlight the theme of the centenary of the founding of the CPC.
