On the morning of April 29, a teleconference on Zhejiang’s exports and consumption and a teleconference for the preparation work of the China-CEEC Exposition, International Consumer Goods Fair, and Zhejiang Investment and Trade Symposium were held in Hangzhou, with branch venues in several other cities. Zhu Congjiu, deputy governor of the Provincial Government, made a speech; Gao Yi, deputy secretary-general of the Provincial Government, presided over the conference; and Sheng Qiuping, director of the Provincial Department of Commerce, briefed the relevant work.

Zhu Congjiu spoke highly of the achievements of Zhejiang’s foreign trade and consumption work in the first quarter of this year and the preparatory work of the three aforementioned events. In advancing foreign trade and consumption work, first, Zhejiang must keep steady the development of the volume and quality of foreign trade; second, Zhejiang should promote the growth of Yiwu as a comprehensive reform pilot zone for international trade; third, Zhejiang needs to improve the quality and expand the capacity of consumption. Sheng Qiuping briefed the situation of the consumption, foreign trade, and foreign investment of Zhejiang in the first quarter and the preparation work of the three events. Sheng also informed the attendees of the gist of the National Foreign Trade Work Conference.

Deputy Mayor Shao Guoqiang and Deputy Secretary-General Chen Zhijian attended the conference at the Jinhua branch. After the conference, Shao made a speech on stabilizing foreign trade and foreign investment and promoting consumption in Jinhua.
