On June 24, at the Academy of Agricultural Sciences base, Jincha 12, a new tea whose leaves and fruits can both be used, produced fruitful results after twenty years of efforts, establishing a major breakthrough in plant breeding innovation.
It is estimated that each plant can produce 4,150 fruits, yielding 9.59 kg of dried seeds. Yield per mu exceeds 1,200 kg if there are 130 plums per mu. Theoretically speaking, the oil production using this new plant may reach 140 kg per mu, guaranteeing the strategic security of edible oil.
