|Jinhua Performs Satisfactorily in Foreign Trade|
A press conference on Jinhua’s import and export in the first half of 2021 was held on July 21. During this year, Jinhua has given full play to the advantages of its market and e-commerce and has been making continuous progress while ensuring stability and vigorously developing new business formats and modes. It has strengthened and optimized its industry chains and delivered a satisfactory result in foreign trade.
In terms of Jinhua’s gratifying performance in foreign trade, there are several data worth noting. In the first half of the year, its import-and-export volume and scale both hit record highs. Jinhua’s exports contributed to a growth of 3% in Zhejiang’s exports and its monthly exports has exceeded 4 billion RMB, continuously setting record highs. Moreover, its scale of import and export continues to rank third in Zhejiang (after Ningbo and Hangzhou), in which its scale of exports remains the second (after Ningbo) and that of imports ranks fifth in the province.
Its high growth of foreign trade is inseparable from Jinhua’s increasingly optimized business environment. Since the beginning of this year, the Jinhua Customs has been dedicated to strengthening supervision, optimizing services, improving the port business environment, promoting the construction of comprehensive bonded zones and free trade zones, and further improving the efficiency and convenience of customs clearance, which effectively contributes to the high-quality development of foreign trade.
At the same time, the Jinhua Customs works actively to guarantee the operation of the China Railway Express (CRE) trains, innovate the district-port linkage supervision, and develop the “bonded + warehousing + distribution” business of the goods of CRE trains, so as to facilitate the “CRE trains + comprehensive bonded area + sea-rail combined transport” international transit business. In the first half of the year, it supervised 1082 CRE trains with 89,000 TEUs, including 739 outbound trains with 61,000 TEUs, and 343 inbound trains with 28,000 TEUs. The development of outbound and inbound trains has become more steady than ever before.
“In the first half of this year, our city’s foreign trade continued its development momentum from the second half of last year with a relatively rapid growth rate, which lays a solid foundation for the steady and high-quality growth of foreign trade throughout the whole of 2021,” said Zhu Fenghua, commissioner of the Jinhua Customs. He also remarked that in the first half of the year, Jinhua’s exports to emerging markets such as Africa, Latin America, and Russia performed well, the volumes of which showed year-on-year increases of 21.3%, 72.0%, and 42.8% respectively.
In the second half of the year, Jinhua’s foreign trade is expected to maintain a steady and positive development momentum. The city and its surrounding areas still have strong demand for commodities related to strategic resources, which will strongly support Jinhua’s import growth in the second half of the year. In addition, the advantages of Jinhua’s free trade zone and comprehensive bonded zone are gradually emerging, and the substantial increase in the number of return trains of CRE will also drive the overall increase in imports.
