The 14th National Games officially opened at the Xi’an Olympic Stadium last night at 8 o’clock. The 13-day sports event will last from September 15-27, seeing more than 12,000 athletes compete for glory and to realize their dreams.

At this session, a total of more than 90 Jinhua-native athletes will represent Zhejiang in 19 events of the Games.

In a national tournament held before the opening of the Games, the Zhejiang Water Polo Team, formed by Jinhua athletes, ranked sixth. This is the first time that the city of has Jinhua participated in the final stage of the National Games with an independent team.

In the competitions of the following days, athletes from Jinhua have chances and hope to win medals in several events, including dragon boat races, balloon volleyball, track and field, beach volleyball, taekwondo, and rock climbing, among others.
