On December 21, the Provincial Office of Constructing Beautiful Towns issued the assessment and acceptance results of 2021’s new era beautiful villages, and Youbu Village of Lanxi City was honored as a provincial demonstration village.

Youbu is one of the 4000-year-old ancient villages in Zhejiang Province. It conserves a rich cultural heritage and is known as “the most beautiful port village in the upper reaches of the Qiantang River.” It has been given the titles of “national key village,” “national livable demonstration village,” “provincial hub village,” “a provincial forest village,” and more.

Since Zhejiang began to establish a network of beautiful villages with cultural and tourism characteristics last year, the village of Youbu has worked hard to improve its environment, the lives of local residents, its main industries, the cultural heritage, and its governance, striving to raise the standards and improving its overall quality. With its efforts in the mutual promotion of culture and tourism, mutual complementation of industry and agriculture, integration of towns and villages, and the beautification of the whole area, Youbu is succeeding in creating a model of beautiful villages in a new era with cultural and tourism characteristics.
