On the morning of November 11, the 2022 Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicinal Materials Expo and the 15th Pan’an Traditional Chinese Medicinal Materials Expo were opened in the Pan’an Jiangnan Medicine Town.

Vice governor Wang Wenxu oversaw the opening of the Expo. Speeches were delivered by Zhu Yongguan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Jiang Jianchun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Wang Qi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering as well as a master of traditional Chinese medicine, and Wu Xian, executive vice president of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, delivered speeches via video. Municipal Party secretary Zhu Chonglie delivered a speech, and deputy mayor Ruan Ganghui attended the event.

On behalf of the Jinhua Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, Zhu Chonglie celebrated the opening of the event and welcomed the leaders and guests who were in attendance. He said that the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out: “Promoting the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine" is important for the direction of future development of the Chinese herbal medicine industry. All localities and departments, including Pan’an, should follow the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China as a guide. This will further extend the industrial chain, improve market quality, strengthen trade cooperation, vigorously promote the culture of traditional Chinese medicine, carry out extensive exchanges and cooperation with all parties in the planting and processing of Chinese medicinal materials, and improve the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine. This will better serve the high-quality development of traditional Chinese medicine in the new era.

At the opening ceremony, the digital trading platform for traditional Chinese medicine in Zhejiang was officially launched. The Zhejiang Common Prosperity (Jinhua-Pan’an) Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Investment Fund signed a contract and announced the 4th Top Ten Medicinal Foods List in Zhejiang Province.
