At 2:30 p.m. on May 21, under the supervision of Jinhua customs, the X8020 /19 the China Railway Express (CRE) train, carrying 100 standard containers for exporting, set off from the East China International MT Port to Milan, an important Italian city 12,300 kilometers away from China.

The CRE train, loaded with fabrics, hardware tools, stationery and office supplies produced by local or nearby companies, with a total value of about 2.86 million US dollars, the whole route will take about 20 days.

With the release of the train from Jinhua to Milan, the number of CRE trains of Jindong platform has increased to 19, covering more than 160 cities in 50 countries. It is also the 300th CRE train released by the Jindong platform this year. Despite the great impact of the COVID-19 and other factors, the platform has made great efforts to explore the potential and expand the market. By May 21, the year-on-year number has increased by 10%.

Italy is the western end of the ancient Silk Road and the intersection of the Maritime Silk Road. Today, Italy is still an important hub node. Italy is China's fourth largest trading partner in the EU, while China is Italy's largest trading partner in Asia. In December 2019, Jinhua and Cerveteri, Italian city, signed a letter of intent to establish a sister city exchange and cooperation relationship to further promote cultural, economic and trade exchanges between the two cities.

Relying on the Jindong platform of the CRE trains, the East China International MT Port will continue to seek market resources, match with foreign trade needs, promote the normal round-trip operation of the Jinhua-Milan route, and continue to strengthen economic and trade exchanges, and promote cooperation with Southern Europe.
