On the morning of July 7, loaded with 100 TEUs of made-in-Yiwu solar photovoltaic modules, the Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan sea-rail intermodal train set off for Ningbo-Zhoushan Port. These modules will then be loaded and shipped to the Port of Yangon, Myanmar.

After arriving at the Port of Yangon, these photovoltaic modules will be used in the largest new energy project in Myanmar: the photovoltaic project in central Myanmar. The project, which is undertaken by Power Construction Corporation of China with a planned AC capacity of 160 megawatts, will provide Myanmar with more than 200 million kWh of green electricity every year.

The Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan sea-rail combined intermodal train has created a new model for overseas logistics for Chinese goods. Thanks to this new line, Yiwu’s photovoltaic products and export goods from the surrounding areas can be shipped to Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and South Asian countries through the ports of Myanmar, dramatically reducing the transportation distance and time.
