On September 16, the “Qatar World Cup” shipping line was opened in Yiwu. Yiwu-made footballs, string flags, national flags, horns, trophies, medals, stickers, and other World Cup products can reach Qatar in 20 days.

There is a two-month countdown to the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The distance from China to Qatar (the geographic center of the two countries) is 5,143 kilometers as the crow flies. This route will be used to help the merchants in the International Trade City transport related products to fans in Qatar for the World Cup. Products made in Yiwu have departed from Ningbo and Shanghai ports and will travel directly to Hamad Port in Qatar within 20 to 25 days. In addition, Cainiao Station also offers a combination of different routes to cover other parts of the Middle East.

Ge Rongxia produces peripheral supplies for sports events in the Yiwu market. Overseas customers have been placing purchase orders since the beginning of July. “My customers are mainly from Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, and Qatar, and the products purchased are mainly cheering bars, speakers, and other products,” said Ge. He also stated that as the World Cup is approaching, products are being shipped to those countries.

Cainiao has long been involved in the Yiwu market, and its efficient cross-border logistics allow fans around the world to feel the atmosphere of the World Cup in advance. Up to date, Cainiao has six digital logistics hubs in the world, runs 245 trunk line charter flights per month, owns ten global distribution centers, and reaches many markets including Europe, Southeast Asia, South America, and the Middle East. “We hope that through Cainiao’s global logistics services, made-in-Yiwu brand products can go abroad sooner and faster,” said a representative of Cainiao’s international trunk line.
