On the morning of February 15, the Yongkang International Inland Port Logistics Company unveiled their operations. They will speed up the construction of “the sixth port area” and unblock the international logistics channel from Yongkang to Ningbo. The Yongkang International Inland Port Logistics Company is jointly operated by the Ningbo Port International Logistics Co., and the Yongkang Traffic Investment Group Shuangfei Transportation Company. They aim to build a unified and efficient multimodal logistics platform in the central and western regions of Zhejiang. The company will give full play to the resource advantages of Yongkang City and the Ningbo Port to promote the extension of the port function into the inland hinterland. Based on the rapid growth of sea-rail intermodal transport, it will focus on industrial characteristics, cater to the needs of enterprises, and expand international container routes to better serve the local and regional economic development. In recent years, Yongkang has taken the high-quality development of a modern logistics industry as its priority. The integrated development of the logistics industry and upstream and downstream industries was guided to the point where remarkable results were achieved. Since its first launch in June 2021, the sea-railway intermodal transport from Yongkang to the Ningbo Zhoushan Port has rapidly realized the normalized operation of seven shifts per week, with the growth rate of trains ranking top in the country. At the same time, the operation of the flights in Wenzhou Port was promoted and Yongkang became the first city of “one stop and two lines” in for the Ningbo Zhoushan Port. Since the opening of sea-rail intermodal transport, it has served more than 200 hardware enterprises and sent 425 trains and 43, 600 TEUs of containers.
