Zhejiang-Norway Cooperation on Green Technology

On April 19, as one of the series activities of the first International Conference on Science and Technology for Open Cooperation (Zhejiang), the Zhejiang Overseas Online Technology Matchmaking Conference on Green Technology (Norway Session) kicked off in Jinhua.

This event was co-sponsored by the Zhejiang Department of Science and Technology, Innovation Norway, the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai, and the Jinhua Municipal People’s Government. It aimed to further expand the open cooperation in science and technology, actively support the innovation of scientific research entities in Zhejiang, build a platform for the cooperation of innovation resources between Zhejiang and Norway in the field of green technology, encourage green and low-carbon technology innovation in Zhejiang, and promote Zhejiang’s carbon neutralization technology. Attending the conference were Wu Qing, deputy director of the Zhejiang Department of Science and Technology; Ruan Ganghui and Li Binfeng, deputy mayors of Jinhua; Lise Nordgaard, consul general of the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Shanghai, and Rolf Almklov, director of the China Section of the Innovation Norway and commercial counselor of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in China.

Before the conference, the representatives of Norwegian green technology companies and institutes visited the Qiubin Sewage Treatment Plant of Jinhua Water Treatment Co., and Jinhua Tap Water Co. The delegation investigated the production and supply of tap water, sewage treatment, and sludge disposal, as well as the utilization of reclaimed water, the comprehensive development and utilization of water resources, the research, testing, treatment, and restoration of the water environment, and the development of smart water systems. Later, the representatives held a seminar with Jinhua City Construction Investment Group Co.

At the seminar, nine Norwegian companies gave presentations for projects on water treatment and energy. They introduced online and offline methods of smart water management solutions for water monitoring and control, advanced thermal hydrolysis technology, floating photovoltaic thin film technology, and other technology projects. The representatives of companies and institutions in Zhejiang and Norwegian representatives participated in technological cooperation and exchanges.

In recent years, Zhejiang and Norway have carried out fruitful exchanges and cooperation in economy and trade, as well as scientific research and education. The conference helps to establish a closer, higher-quality, and more sustainable cooperative relationship between the two parties, deepens the exchanges and cooperation between Zhejiang and Norway in green technology, and promotes more practical achievements. Jinhua will further integrate resources and strengthen its support of platforms, industries, policies, and services, so as to create an optimal environment for both sides to build an innovation platform, strengthen academic exchanges, and promote the transformation of research projects.
