On the morning of April 30, the third Jinhua Development Conference with the theme of “New Era, New Jinhua, New Development” was opened successfully. More than a thousand outstanding figures from the fields of science and education, business, and finance, as well as representatives of the new residents of Yiwu and outstanding students from Jinhua, gathered to participate in the grand event.

Yi Lianhong, secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, and Wang Hao, deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Governor of Zhejiang Province, issued instructions respectively. He Yicheng, a renowned representative of local elites and chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, sent a congratulatory letter to this conference. Qiu Qiwen, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and minister of the United Front Work Department, and Zhu Chonglie, the secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony. Deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and mayor of Jinhua, Xing Zhihong read leadership instructions and congratulatory letters. City leaders including Chen Lingling, Song Zhiheng, and Cai Yongbo also attended the conference.

Qiu Qiwen congratulated everyone on the convening of the conference. He said that the whole province is vigorously studying Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and implementing it with the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress. The government is faithfully executing the Double Eight Strategies and making contributions to promoting Zhejiang’s modernization and common prosperity to establish an “important window.” It is expected to start a new chapter of the uniquely Chinese path to modernization in Zhejiang.

Qiu thought that the Third Jinhua Development Conference manifested Xi Jinping’s important direction of “grasping the advantages of Jinhua’s abundant talents and accelerating the pace of development”. This conference is a powerful lever that promotes the high-level construction of Jinhua into an inland open hub city, which is a mission entrusted by the Provincial Party Committee. It is also a practical action that promotes innovation, deepens reform and opening, and tackles difficulties. It will certainly help Jinhua follow the Chinese path to modernization. Qiu hoped that Jinhua people at home and abroad will make greater contributions to the Chinese path of modernization in Zhejiang.

On behalf of the Municipal Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress, the Municipal Government, and the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Zhu Zhonglie warmly welcomed the distinguished guests from the participating local talents and extended gratitude to the Jinhua people at home and abroad and all friends who care and support the development of Jinhua. Zhu said that Jinhua is now taking the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the Double Eight Strategies as a new starting point, deepening innovation, tackling reform challenges, improving openness, and developing the “three first projects” of the Provincial Party Committee. Jinhua will focus on building itself into an international hub city and advancing into a modern urban area. The city will break bottlenecks and explore new methods of implementing the Chinese path to modernization and common prosperity. Jinhua has always closely linked personal and corporate development with national rejuvenation and people’s happiness, and Zhu hoped that Jinhua people at home and abroad will jointly contribute to Jinhua’s development.

During the event, there were also activities such as the appointment ceremony for people who are responsible for Jinhua’s talent introduction, the awarding ceremony for institutions making global investments, the unveiling ceremony of Shuanglong Science and Technology Innovation Center, and the signing ceremony of major projects. People who made great contributions to Jinhua’s development were awarded, including the “Role Model Award”, “Outstanding Achievement Award”, “Jinhua Development Outstanding Contribution Award”, and “Outstanding Businessman Award”.
