On August 23, the “Lanxi” China Railway Express (CRE) freight train, loaded with 110 standard shipping containers, departed from Jinhua South Railway Station. It had undergone supervision by Jinhua Customs and was bound for Moscow, Russia, which is thousands of miles away. The “Lanxi” is a specialized train designed for Lanxi export businesses through a collaboration between the Jindong platform and the railway department. This dedicated train started its journey from Jinhua South Station and will pass through the Alashankou port. It is expected to reach Moscow in approximately 14 days. The primary exported goods include engines, baby strollers, textiles, and more, with a total value exceeding 23 million RMB. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative and the 20th anniversary of the implementation of the Double Eight Strategy in Zhejiang Province. Since its launch on August 31, 2017, the Jindong platform of CRE has been consistently transporting a wide range of goods produced in Zhejiang and nearby provinces and cities to countries along the Belt and Road. This has created a swift, efficient, and environmentally-friendly international logistics pathway for domestic businesses. According to data, in the first half of this year, trade between Jinhua City and Belt and Road countries totaled 132.4 billion RMB, a year-on-year increase of 16.6%. Lanxi’s export growth to Belt and Road countries exceeded local export growth by 12.6 percentage points. The launch of the “Lanxi” CRE serves as an early preview ahead of the operation of the Lanxi Port Area’s multimodal transport hub, integrating railways, highways, and waterways at the Jinhua Port. This step has introduced a novel land route for Lanxi’s manufacturing sector to connect with the Belt and Road. Yu Gang, a member of the Standing Committee of Lanxi’s Municipal Party Committee and deputy mayor, attended the ceremony. (Source: Lanxi Convergent Media Center)
