“Morocco!” “Kazakhstan!” “Zimbabwe!” On the afternoon of August 17, a group of international students gathered at the city sports center to create a short video. They took turns stepping in front of the camera, proudly stating the names of their home countries. As the video concluded, the camera shifted to the emblem of the Hangzhou Asian Games displayed on the venue wall. With enthusiasm, they exclaimed, “Welcome to Jinhua!” They are international students from Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics. This time, they have joined the “Asian Games Global Tour” as part of the “Riding the Asian Games Wave to Explore Zhejiang” online event. They have come to Jinhua to visit the Asian Games venues and get an early feel for the vibrant Asian Games atmosphere in Jinhua. As the international students arrived at the city sports center’s gymnasium and saw the sign ahead, one of them couldn’t contain their excitement and exclaimed, “Sepaktakraw!” Seeing the puzzled looks from the others, he explained the Sepaktakraw sport in English, pointing proudly to his country’s team on the sign. This enthusiastic student is Xue Jiaxing from Indonesia, who came to China to study two months ago due to his fascination with Chinese culture. Xue Jiaxing explained that Sepaktakraw is a widely popular sport in Indonesia, with almost everyone watching Sepaktakraw matches. During his visit to Jinhua’s Asian Games venue, he discovered that his country’s team would be competing here in a little over a month, which filled him with excitement. He mentioned that in Indonesia, people often associate China with big cities like Beijing and Shanghai, but they don’t know much about Jinhua. However, he believes that through this Asian Games event, more Indonesians will become familiar with Jinhua. He enthusiastically said, “There will be a Sepaktakraw competition here, and I want to introduce it to my family and friends!”
