On the morning of August 26, the X9216/5 China Railway Express (CRE) train, carrying 100 standard boxes of solar panels, set off from Jinhua South Railway Station. After being inspected by Jinhua Customs, it headed towards Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan. This marks the successful launch of the first solar panel train on the Jindong Platform of the Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe (YXE) CRE freight train. It boosts economic and trade cooperation in Central Asia and helps develop green energy in the region. The photovoltaic panels and accessories on this special train will be used to build the Sherabad 500MWp/456.6MWac photovoltaic power station project in Uzbekistan. Once this photovoltaic power plant project is finished, it’s anticipated to be one of the largest solar power plants in Uzbekistan and even the wider Central Asia region. This plant will provide dependable electricity to around 495,000 households and cut down annual carbon dioxide emissions by 445,000 tons. This project holds significant importance in easing Uzbekistan’s local energy shortage and enhancing the electricity supply structure. To ensure the successful launch of this special solar panel train, the Jinhua Railway Freight Center has assigned technical experts to provide on-site guidance. They’ve analyzed the loading requirements for the solar products, devised a plan for secure loading, and supervised the loading process. Moving forward, the Jindong Platform of the YXE CRE will also continue to align with the Belt and Road. It will actively engage in the development of new energy projects in Central Asia, allowing solar products manufactured in China to establish a strong presence in the region. (By Wang Tesang)
