On September 8, a train operated by PIL (Pacific International Lines) set off from Yiwu Railway Port to Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, carrying 100 TEUs. This marks PIL as the fourth company to offer weekly train services from this railway port.

In the past seven months, trade between Yiwu and Africa amounted to 59.20 billion RMB, showing a growth of 31.6%. Yiwu’s strong exports to Africa have led to a surge in logistics needs. In response to this demand, the International Land Port Group formed a team to find the most suitable shipping companies for African routes. They chose to work with PIL due to its reliable container service and efficient routes to Africa, aiming to provide better logistics for African trade.

So far this year, the Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan Port sea-rail service has transported 58,034 TEUs, a year-on-year increase of 6.6%. On the busiest days, they’ve run up to 5 trains at once. (By Wu Fengyu)
