First Return Trip to Prague
Post Time: 19/09/2017

At 10:10 am on September 9, the first Yiwu-Prague China Railway Express (CRE) train left the Yiwu West Railway Station and headed for Prague, Czech Republic. This is the first return trip leaving from Yiwu since the Prague-Yiwu CRE opened on July 19, marking the success of the two-way operation of the Yiwu-Prague line. This is also the ninth international railway starting from Yiwu.

The train was loaded with 88 standard containers of cloth, clothing, footgear, scarfs, alternating-current motors, bearings, and other small commodities from Yiwu; these products were valued at 3.35 million dollars in total. The train will pass through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, and Poland and will take about 16 days to finish the journey.

The first Prague-Yiwu CRE train, which was also the first train that departed from Europe since the opening of CRE, left Prague at 11:40 am on July 19, local time and arrived at the Yiwu West Railway Station at 11:18 on August 4.

After three years of development, the CRE has successfully implemented the regular operation of two departing trains and one returning train per week. Statistics from Hangzhou Customs show that between 2013 and 2016, import and export trade facilitated by the Yiwu CRE tripled annually; in 2016, it reached 3 bn RMB.
