Yiwu Leader Visits E-Commerce Cluster
Post Time: 21/09/2017

On September 13, 2017, Sheng Qiuping, member of the Jinhua Municipal Standing Committee and secretary of the Yiwu Municipal Party Committee, together with relevant department leaders, visited Yiwu’s e-commerce service cluster.

They met with YTO Express, ZTO Express, Dongyu Express, and Red Lion Express, talking with the directors of various departments to understand the current situation of the logistics industry. They also paid a visit to the second phase of the construction of Yiwu’s railway hub, where they were given a detailed account of the project.

Later, in a symposium Sheng Qiuping presided over, he highly praised the achievements the cluster had made after listening to the report by the relevant department. He said that the cluster did a great job of introducing new projects and making Yiwu an international port—the fourth metropolitan area of Zhejiang Province—as well as the home of small commodities. He pointed out that the bulk of future work will center on taking full advantage of the opportunities to combine Yiwu’s development with the Belt and Road initiative, during which special attention should be paid to the Yiwu-Ningbo-Zhoushan Corridor, Yiwu-Europe China Railway Express, and growth as an international port.

Sheng highlighted the importance of having keen insight and a systematic plan. He mentioned the importance of the following aspects specifically: making the “Czech Town” in Yiwu the model of the Belt and Road; dedicating efforts to developing as an international port, so as to benefit the service industries, especially e-commerce, logistics, and international finance; emphasizing the introduction of new enterprises and new industries; and being cautious about every project from beginning negotiations to completion of construction. Most importantly, the leadership must ensure the implementation of the policies. Meanwhile, the related departments should be deeply concerned about solving emerging problems, making a contribution to Yiwu.
