New HSR Lines to Central China
Post Time: 27/11/2017

After four years of construction, the operation of Jiujiang-Jingdezhen-Quzhou Railway (JJQ Railway) has entered the countdown stage. This is another new railway that connects Jinhua to an extensive railway network, following the Hangzhou-Changsha section of Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway (HSR) and the new Jinhua-Wenzhou HSR.

According to media in Jiangxi, the JJQ Railway will be fully prepared to open around December 15 and will begin operation on a date yet to be determined. By then, cities of Zhejiang, including Hangzhou and Wenzhou, are expected to open new high-speed trains to Wuhan and Zhengzhou via the JJQ Railway. Jinhua will have access to a fast and convenient way to get to Central China.

The construction of the JJQ Railway holds significant meaning for improving regional transportation, developing mineral products and tourism resources along the line, and economic exchange between southeastern coastal areas and Central China.

The JJQ Railway also benefits the operation of ordinary-speed trains. When this new rail heading straight to Central China opens, a set of ordinary-speed trains from Jinhua to Jiujiang, Wuhan, Chengdu, and Chongqing are expected to be diverted via the JJQ Railway. This means the journeys to these places by ordinary-speed trains will be shortened by over two hours since they will be on a more direct route.
