CRE at the Service of B&R
Post Time: 01/12/2017

The first train of the China Railway Express (then known as Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe Railway) departed from Yiwu West to Madrid, Spain on November 18, 2014. The CRE is a 13,052-km-long railway which allows a variety of almost 2000 made-in-China products from eight provinces and municipalities—including Zhejiang, Shanghai, Guangdong, and Anhui—to be exported to Europe. On each train bound for Europe there is an average value of approximately 5 million USD.

By the third anniversary of its launch, the CRE proved to be playing a key role in linking Asia to Europe: thanks to the marketability of the goods and the completeness of the service chain, the operational costs and transportation time are greatly reduced. Because of being able to travel from the extremities of China to Europe in only 16 days, more countries along the CRE’s route are recognizing its benefits.

From January-October 2017, trains ran along the CRE over 120 times and transported 11,000 standard containers, registering a year-on-year growth of 53.75%. From January-July 2017, the exports of high-tech products through the CRE reached 86.069 million RMB, registering a year-on-year growth of 1.3 times.
