Beijing Works on “Going Global” Strategy
Post Time: 08/04/2018

Guided by the 19th National Congress, the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality (hereinafter “the Foreign Affairs Office”) is offering better service to Beijing’s enterprises and encouraging them to “go global” and helping them improve their operation and management.

In 2017, the Foreign Affairs Office supported some of Beijing’s enterprises, including Beijing Enterprises Group, Beijing Capital Group, and Beijing Construction Engineering Group, in their business overseas by providing them with services in exploring international markets, overseas investments, investment promotion, and the introduction of emerging technologies and equipment. In addition, it provided a fast channel for key enterprises with important events like the Beijing-Macau Economic Cooperation Symposium, Beijing-Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Symposium, 2017 Astana Expo, and overseas road shows for enterprises. In 2017, the Foreign Affairs Office approved overseas visits from 1711 delegations of enterprises, with a total of 4854 people.

In other aspects of going global, the Foreign Affairs Office is also helping local enterprises bring foreign businesspeople into China. It has collaborated with the Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce to discuss how foreigners can be invited to work in China for business affairs. At the same time, it is simplifying the invitation procedure for foreigners in business capacities for long-term and short-term employment. (Translated by Li Ziyi, edited by Kendra Fiddler)
