Yiwu-Madrid CRE Reaches Madrid
On June 29, a Yiwu-Madrid China Railway Express (CRE) train loaded with epidemic prevention materials arrived in Madrid, bringing surgical masks and protective suits to Spain.
Setting off from Yiwu on June 5, this train is the first CRE train especially allocated for China and Spain’s cooperative transportation of epidemic prevention materials. It transported a total weight of about 257 tons of epidemic prevention materials to Spain, including 25.05 million surgical masks and 400,000 sets of protective clothing, which were purchased by the Spanish government from China to relieve the shortage of epidemic prevention materials in Spain.
In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, China has been actively working on promoting international cooperation in epidemic prevention and control, maintaining the stability of international manufacturing and supply chains, and increasing the supply of epidemic prevention materials and necessities in the international market. As of June 30, a total of 294 Yiwu-Madrid China Railway Express (CRE) trains have been run in this year, transporting 24,466 TEUs of goods, a year-on-year increase of 117.1%.
