Foreign Students Celebrate Youth Day
Post Time: 26/05/2017

On the morning of May 4, hundreds of foreign students from over 70 countries gathered at Yiwu Industrial and Commercial College (YWICC) for part of the celebrations of China's Youth Day.

“I have celebrated China's Youth Day twice, but this time is especially meaningful. It is not only the day when the Alumni Association for Foreign Students was established but also the day when the first International Culture Festival was held,” said 28-year-old Alex from France, who had studied Chinese at the College of International Education at YWICC for two years. Speaking fluent Chinese, he called himself a “typical Yiwu citizen,” as well as an “Yiwu boss” who had achieved moderate success.

At the first International Culture Festival, fourteen brilliant performances won the cheers of all the audience members. These performances included a Chinese folk dance, a fashion show, a magic show, and mixed kinds of dance shows from various countries. On either side of the stage, a long row of canopies was set up. On one side, there were booths that honored elements of traditional Chinese culture, including calligraphy, paper-cutting, and cheongsams. On the other side, there were booths that honored traditional food and national dresses from all over the world. In addition, students from the College of International Education at YWICC held all kinds of exhibitions, including a costume show, a photographic exhibition, and a gourmet food show, thus fully demonstrating the achievements of YWICC's education of foreign students and the style of those international students.
