2018 World E-Commerce Expo in Yiwu

On April 11-13, the 2018 China International E-Commerce Expo and the 1st Digital Trade Expo were held at the International Expo Center in Yiwu. During the exhibition, the China International E-Commerce Center released the World E-Commerce Report to the public.

The exhibition carried the theme “New Power of Trade in the New Era of E-Commerce.” Exhibition booths numbering over 2200 were set up in an area of 50,000 m2. The exhibition was divided into ten display areas: Famous E-Commerce Platform, Cross-Border E-Commerce, New Retail, E-Commerce Demonstration Base, Community E-Commerce/Mobile Internet, E-Commerce Service Enterprises, E-Commerce in Rural Areas, Smart Products, Belt and Road Initiative, and Top-Brand Online Products. The exhibition attracted 1,102 exhibitors from 11 countries (the United States, Germany, France, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and India) and 19 provinces of China. 123 cross-border e-commerce companies in total participated in the exhibition, including well-known business such as Amazon, Google, Alibaba, JD.Com, NetEase, Baidu, SF Express, Shopee, GMO, and Quark.

During the exhibition, the 2018 World E-Commerce Conference was held. The theme of the conference was “Global Innovation: Changing the Future,” with the main focus on the global trend of e-commerce development. There were multiple forum discussion subjects, including “Future Trends of E-Commerce,” “Cross-Border E-Commerce Development Opportunities,” “Sharing Economy,” “Belt and Road Business Opportunities,” “Artificial Intelligence,” “New Retail,” and “Consumption Upgrade.” During the conference, businessmen from well-known e-commerce enterprises in China, the United States, Russia, Australia, Canada, Japan, Israel, South Korea, India, and Malaysia, along with the head of the E-Commerce Association, discussed the trends of the industry’s development, resolved FAQs, and outlined the future direction for entrepreneurs.

In addition, during the expo more than ten supporting activities took place, including the 2018 China Digital Trade Summit Forum, the 4th International Symposium on China’s Digital Trade, the awards ceremony of the China Digital Trade Research Award, the “New Foreign Trade: Creating the Future” Cross-Border E-Commerce Summit, the Global Entrepreneur Conference, and the 4th World Weishang (micro-shops) Conference.

On April 11, the “Makers of Zhijiang” 2018 Global E-Commerce Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Ceremony was held at the Yiwu International Expo Center Hall. On April 13, the global youth entrepreneurship discussion was held in Yiwu. “Run with Yiwu – Global Youth Business Program” extended its invitation to young people around the world to participate in exploring China’s economy, take part in joint exploration of entrepreneurial skills, get in touch with the frontiers of e-commerce development, hold dialogues with the most inspirational and successful entrepreneurs, help young global entrepreneurs learn e-commerce in Yiwu, enrich international trade knowledge, and provide entrepreneurial practice projects.
