Procurement Meeting in Yiwu
Post Time: 27/08/2018

A procurement meeting for Yiwu’s exports to Thailand was held in District 5 of Yiwu International Trade City on the afternoon of August 22. Thirty purchasers from Thailand and more than 50 merchants in the International Trade City negotiated face-to-face to find opportunities for cooperation and mutual benefits.

In order to actively explore and match international trade resources, Yiwu International Trade City, together with the Yiwu Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the Yiwu Council for the Promotion of Trade, and the Yiwu Chamber of International Commerce, cooperated with the Thailand Purchaser Service Center to hold “Pay for Performance” (P4P) trade activities. The Yiwu–Thailand commodities procurement meeting is the first event of these activities.

During the meeting, Luo Aiqin, a merchant of District 5, was busy introducing commodities to the purchasers. Luo said that Yiwu and Thailand have had good trade relations for a long time. Under the guidance of the Belt and Road, their relations will become closer. She hopes the P4P trade activities will help Yiwu’s small commodities sell globally.

The purchasing activity helped the purchasers learn about Yiwu’s market and experience the charms of Yiwu’s small commodities. In addition, some purchasers introduced Thai products to Yiwu’s merchants in hopes that Yiwu’s market will become a bridgehead for importing Thai products.
