Internationals Volunteer for Community Service

Post Time: 2020-06-16
President Xi Jinping has, on many occasions, called on China to build a community with a shared future for the good of mankind. In particular, he has stated that global solidarity and cooperation are the most powerful weapon to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The support and help from the volunteers among the international students of Zhejiang Normal University, and the kindness between the international students and Chinese residents, all embody the kind of community President Xi has in mind.

In daily life, the community can be considered as a kind of grassroots governance. The international volunteers are not just participating in the fight against the pandemic, but also participating in grassroots governance that empower local communities. Furthermore, this approach enhances individuals’ sense of identity and community belonging when we ask internationals to help solve problems involving other internationals. It also mobilizes their initiative and enthusiasm for participating in community service. This is a forward-thinking process for an open, confident, and modern China.
