Promoting Yiwu Overseas Chinese Affairs
Post Time: 06/06/2018

The overseas Chinese affairs work in Yiwu has been focusing on attracting the attention of Chinese expats to introduce talents and make investment in Yiwu. It has fully implemented the One-Time Visit policy to deal with daily overseas Chinese affairs, which improves Yiwu’s foreign exchanges and cooperation as well as the city’s economic development.

Promoting the One-Time Visit Policy

In order to further promote the One-Time Visit policy and provide convenient, efficient, and helpful administrative services, the Overseas Chinese Affairs Work Window at the International Trade Service Center has been opened to handle all affairs related to Chinese people living internationally.

Improving Service for Former Chinese Expats

At the end of April, the Overseas Chinese and Expats Medical Expert Service Team went to Yiwu and conducted inspections, diagnoses, and consultations for more than 400 citizens on common and chronic diseases. Additionally, the Zhejiang Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office and Yiwu Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office have carried out various forms of publicity activities on the Law of the Peoples Republic of China on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Returned Overseas Chinese and Their Family Members, including using exhibition boards or handbooks to publicize laws and regulations on international and Chinese affairs and providing on-the-spot troubleshooting for returned overseas Chinese.

In addition, in order to further strengthen the service for former Chinese expats, Yiwu Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office employed 13 outstanding lawyers as legal advisers for international Chinese affairs to properly deal with disputes concerning Chinese expats and solve all types of legal demands.

Encouraging Chinese Expats to Make Contributions to Yiwu

In recent years, Yiwu has actively taken advantage of expats’ resources to boost economic transformation and development. Yiwu’s expat entrepreneurs are promoters and spokespersons of Yiwu. “Wherever I go, I will try my best to tell Yiwu’s story and recommend more foreign companies to invest in Yiwu,” said Cheng Jianxin, secretary of the Yiwu Overseas Party Service Center.
