World's Youths Stage Domestic TV Show
Post Time: 25/08/2017

“Mo Guilan at make-up! Huang Feihong and disciples on their spots!” These orders were heard on August 16 at the outdoor studios of Hongshulin Films, Dongyang. The busy scene was created to stage an international version of a classic costume action series, Huang Feihong and Mo Guilan, played by the participants of the World's Outstanding Youth in Jinhua's Historical Villages.

The three friends of Mo Guilan – Mary 1, Mary 2, and Mary 3 – were played by three girls from the USA, Kazakhstan, and India; the Green Dragons Gang was interpreted by three youths from Nepal, Bangladesh, and Cambodia; and the Shahe Gang consisted of participants from Indonesia

Yang Zhe, a Tsinghua University undergraduate studying economics and finance, acted as Huang Feihong for this international version of the series.

In order to fluently perform his part as member of the Shahe Gang in Chinese, Andrea Karunia Iskandar began practicing his lines two days in advance, asking his friends to transcribe them into pinyin.

The Nepalese participant, Pralhad Gupta, confirmed his humorous and funny ways of attracting attention, as he had been doing throughout the project, and displayed his athletic skills. His cheekiness gained him the title of “born actor” on set.

Apart from being very happy about the acclaim he received, Pralhad said that after visiting Hengdian, he became interested in films and was very satisfied that he had the chance to participate in a costume show. (By Zhu Kaidi, translated by Marco Lovisetto, edited by Xiamara Hohman)
