Pujiang: 12th Painting and Calligraphy Fest
The 12th Painting and Calligraphy Festival of Pujiang will be held from September 26 to October 8, with Wenjing Garden on Xianhua Road being the main hub of the festival. The opening ceremony of the festival will be on the morning of September 26.
The festival is jointly hosted by the cultural tourism office and the government of Pujiang County. It is a grand gathering of cultural exhibitions, calligraphy and painting exchanges, exhibitions, and sales.
The festival will host 18 activities, including 14 painting and calligraphy activities and 4 cultural ones. The contributors to the calligraphy and painting exhibition are provincial- or national-level painters. The exhibition areas will be labeled “provincial” and “national,” and the area for local Pujiang painting and calligraphy will be specially marked. Attendees will experience a high-quality cultural feast.
Dragon-Boat Race Starts in Lanxi on Friday
From September 27 to 29, there will be dragon boat races in Central Zhejiang and the National Dragon Boat Invitational Race in Lanxi. About 400 athletes will fill the main channel of Lanjiang.
The race is hosted by Zhejiang Dragon Boat Association and the People's Government of Lanxi Municipality, and undertaken by the Culture, Radio, and Television Tourism and Sports Bureau of Lanxi.
For the open races of 200- and 500-meter dragon boat ride, 22 people have singed up. In 2018, more than 300 athletes from 12 dragon boat teams from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Shanghai participated in the competition, recreating the ancient scenes of dragon boat races.
