Japanese Group Visits Yiwu
Post Time: 05/01/2018

From December 23 to 24, on behalf of the All-Japan Prefectural and Municipal Union (JICHIRO), a Japanese group called “Journey of Peace” visited Yiwu. The group members are Katsumi Ishikawa, Yoshiko Matsuzawa, Ryuuji Yamada, Fumitaka Uchihashi, Riko Nakamura, and Yasue Juukurogi.

During the stay in Yiwu, they visited the Songshan Mountain biological warfare ruins in Linshan Temple, and the Yiwu Exhibition Center of Japanese Biological Warfare. Wang Jianzheng, director of the Association for the Family Members of Japanese Biological Warfare Victims in Yiwu; Wang Jixu, survivor of the biological warfare; and Wang Mingguang, Wang Fuyuan, and Wang Xingguo, family members of the war victims, had an interview with the Japanese group at the exhibition center. They also planned non-governmental exchanges between China and Japan in 2018. It was agreed that the JICHIRO will pay another visit to Yiwu in July of 2018.

When visiting the Yiwu Exhibition Center, the group gave paper cranes made by JICHIEO as a gift in memory of the victims of the war. The group also showed their remorse for Japan’s invasion of China, and expressed best wishes for the Sino-Japanese friendship. (By Wang Zhijian, translated by Li Ziyi, edited by Kendra Fiddler)
