Winners in Children’s Poetry Contest

On August 3, the first Yiwu “Luo Binwang” international children’s poetry contest revealed the Grand Award winner and 5 Nominee Award winners among the adult competitors and announced the 50 teenager competitors who made it into the semifinal. The contest was held by Children’s Literature Committee of the China Writers Association, Zhejiang Writers Association, and Yiwu Government, associated with the Campus Literature Magazine and Yiwu Federation of Literary and Art Circles. Since the start of the contest, 15,968 poetry works from 30 countries and regions have been submitted to participate in the contest.

Ding Qinzheng won the Grand Award for his poem “Words of a Teacher from an Alien Galaxy”; Yang Mei and Ying Yongjun won Nominee Awards for “I Dreamed about Playing Hide-and-Seek with Mom” and “Trees are the Fountains of Solidity” respectively, together with the other three Nominees. Li Yi’an wrote “The Foreign Tongue at My Home.” He and the other 49 teenagers will compete in the semifinal.

The Organizing Committee arranged an activity in Yiwu on August 21 for the winners of the adult group and 50 teenager competitors to draw inspiration from the local folk culture and customs.
