IAS as B&R Co-op Platform

  On the afternoon of June 8, a conference on the promotion of the “Belt and Road” Initiative in Zhejiang Province was held in Ningbo. Among the participants were more than 140 international guests from 60 countries including Indonesia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Turkmenistan, Slovakia, Kenya, Jordan, Thailand, Oman and Czech Public, and over 200 entrepreneurs. Yuan Jiajun, Governor of Zhejiang Province, presided over the conference.

  Professor Liu Hongwu, dean of the Institute of African Studies (IAS), and Mr. Gert Johannes Grobler, senior research fellow of the IAS and former deputy director of consular services on Americas and Europe in the Department of International Relations and Cooperations of South Africa, were invited to attend the conference and gave speeches.  

  For the first time, the conference recognized the achievement of “B&R” Initiative in Zhejiang, with a total of 56 projects awarded. (Translated by Lin Yuqin, edited by Mariam Ayad)
